| Visakhapatnam, the Port city is the jewel on the eastern coast of India. The City is a harmonious blend of the magical past and the bustling present with a breath taking panorama of golden beaches, lush green fields, verdant valleys and splendid monuments from a historically rich and religious heritage.
Beautiful beaches and the vast blue sea, green-capped hills, breathtaking valleys, dense jungles and crystal clear cascades, million-year-old caves, a famous hill temple dating back to the 11th century, ancient Buddhist sites, the only submarine museum of the subcontinent, lush green parks, and salubrious climate - Visakhapatnam has everything to make a perfect tourist destination.
Visakahapatnam has always been an important location on the map of the country, right from the ancient times, especially during the British Rule. The city was also an important target of Japanese attack during the World War II. The Pakistanis too attacked the city during the Indo Pak war in 1972, but fortunately no damage was done to the city.
Visakahapatnam is the headquarters of the Eastern Naval Command of the Indian Navy. The city is also experiencing a boom in tourism, as the city is endowed with beautiful beaches, stunning scenic landscape and a rich cultural heritage. The three majestic rocky ranges - The Kailasha Hill, The Porupalam Hill and the Yarada Hill form an excellent backdrop and enhance the charm of this beautiful Port city. |

| Rishikonda : Down the coast towards Bhimili is Rushikonda Hill ("the Sugarloaf Hill") and beach. The beach is ideal for surfing and swimming. Rushikonda is a thickly covered hill located at a distance of 13kms. from Visakhapatnam on the Visakhapatnam- Bheemunipatnam beach road. The steep hill slopes upward from Rishikonda beach which is one of Visakhapatnam's loveliest beaches. Golden, unspoiled sands quenched by the sun-drenched waters of a tranquil sea, a well appointed 36 room tourist lodge, individual rental cottages, a restaurant and other amenities in the tourist complex, make Rishikonda even more inviting. |

| If you are a water sports freak then, the golden beach of Rushikonda is the beach for you. You can spend hours water skiing & wind surfing. One of the interesting aspects here is that even though the wells are near the sea they do not contain saline water. Sri Sapta Rusheswara Temple of 14th century surrounded by seven hills is located here. |
| Kailasa Hill Park : Above Lawson's Bay is Mount Kailash, a charming hillock of 304 mts. height on the sea front, also known as Thomas' Folly, which borders a small valley within the city adjacent to the beach. Located on this picturesque hill with an enchanting panoramic sea view, Kailasagiri is one of the outstanding tourist spots in Visakhapatnam. It is the queen among the many tourist spots in the city. The hill park, which covers 350 acres of land, is an exciting landscape hill-top garden of enchanting flora and tropical trees. Situated at an altitude of 360 ft. the park gives fascinating views of sun kissed beaches on one side and the lush green forests on the other side beside the panoramic view of the bustling metropolis of Visakhapatnam. This hill park is a favourite location among film-makers. |

| Visakha Museum : Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation museum houses treasures and artifacts from the glorious past of the region. It is located on the beach road in a massive "Dutch Bungalow", about 150 years old. The bungalow was renovated in the most imaginative way, without disturbing the aesthetic aura of the structure. Its architectural beauty is impressive. |
