Founded in 1948, the hospital provides general medical and surgical care, as well as specialty care in a number of areas, including oncology, rehabilitation, women's and children's health, obesity, and diabetes. Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare also offers a family practice residency program and provides primary medical care through a handful of regional clinics. It has a 60-bed psychiatric hospital, and offers adult day care and home health care services.

Tampa General Hospital keeps the medical tempo humming in west-central Florida. The hospitals that comprise TUHS include 750-bed Temple University Hospital and two community-based hospitals providing acute and emergency care, the Jeanes Hospital and TUHS Episcopal Hospital (home to a 120-bed behavioral health unit). TUHS supports programs in pediatric and adult cardiology, organ transplantation, oncology, and pulmonary disease. Temple University Health System also includes a community-wide network of primary care physicians.

The majority of Tenet's hospitals (60%) are in California, Florida, and Texas. The hospitals range from small community facilities offering basic care to major teaching and research hospitals, such as the nearly 500-bed Atlanta Medical Center. In addition to its acute care holdings, Tenet also operates specialty hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, physician practices, outpatient centers, and other health care facilities that form regional networks around its main hospitals.
