uVuMobile (formerly SmartVideo Technologies) has decided that the smart money is on mobile. The company -- which provides video streaming services to the corporate, educational, and government sectors using its proprietary SmartStream technology -- has turned its attention to the mobile entertainment market. In 2005 it launched a direct- to-consumer mobile video service, delivering television and video content (including content from ABC, MSNBC, Weather Channel, and FOX Sports) to SmartPhone cellular handsets and to Wi-Fi-enabled PDA devices. Merchant banker Forté Partners owns nearly a quarter of uVuMobile.
