The sports-themed restaurants are a popular destination for sports fans to watch games; they offer a menu featuring a variety of pub grub, such as nachos, ribs, pizza, chicken wings, and burgers. About 15 locations are corporate-run, while the rest are either owned by franchisees or operate as franchise joint ventures.

Star Buffet is a leading operator of buffet-style restaurants with more than 60 dining locations in nearly 20 states. The eateries, found primarily in Florida and Arizona, operate under such banners as BuddyFreddys and Whistle Junction, as well as its flagship brands Barnhill's Buffet and HomeTown Buffet (franchised from Buffets Holdings). The chains offer a wide array of menu items for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In addition to its buffet-style units, Star Buffet operates a small number of family-style restaurants under the 4B's banner, as well as a couple of WesterN SizzliN steak-buffet restaurants (franchised from Western Sizzlin). David Martin started the chain in 1986; president Don Harkleroad acquired the company in 1995.

Sticky Ribhouse operates about 20 Sticky Fingers barbecue restaurants mostly in South Carolina, but also in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida. The eateries offer a variety of barbecue chicken and pork ribs, along with sandwiches and side dishes. In addition to its restaurants, the company bottles its barbecue sauces for sale at leading supermarket chains and it ships selected menu items anywhere in the US. Partners and childhood friends Todd Eischeid, Jeff Goldstein, and Chad Walldorf opened the first Sticky Fingers outlet in 1992.
