Maruti Suzuki India is probing allegations of fraud and wrongdoing by some company executives in its purchase department, a report by The Economic Times said. It is being done based on a complaint filed by a whistleblower.

"After a thorough investigation, the company will take strict action if required," a person aware of developments told ET.

Officials from the top internal investigating agencies of India and the US, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and those from the US Department of Justice met to discuss continued cooperation in addressing dynamic and evolving technology-based crimes.

The meeting between FBI and CBI officials were held in New Delhi last week, the Department of Justice said on Monday.

Indian commercial vehicle maker Tata Motors has started reducing discounts it offers on trucks to protect the margins, a report by The Economic Times said. With fewer discounts, the company has kept the maximum retail price constant, leading to an increase in the effective market operating price.

Tata Motors on Monday said it has partnered with ICICI Bank to offer financing solutions to its authorised passenger electric vehicle dealers.

India's Bharat Petroleum Corp plans to shut its 156,000 barrels-per-day (bpd) Bina refinery in central India for about a month in June for maintenance, two sources familiar with the plan said.

The state-run refiner also plans to shut half of its 240,000 bpd Mumbai refinery in western India for three to four weeks in September-October for maintenance, the sources said.
