A power tussle appears to be surfacing early in the newly formed Congress government in Karnataka. The CM post sharing formula between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar that was reported by multiple outlets earlier has been put in doubt after a stunning claim by Karnataka cabinet minister MB Patil.
Days after the Karnataka cabinet swearing-in ceremony, Patil triggered tensions by claiming that there is no power sharing formula in place and CM Siddaramaiah will stay CM for a full term of 5 years. The statement could not have gone down well with Deputy CM DK Shivakumar camp.

Entertainment giant Disney has started its third round of layoffs that will affect over 2,500 employees across the board, a report by news agency IANS said on Tuesday. Although Parks and Resorts remain largely untouched, no particular division is being targeted by pink slips this week, it said.
As a part of a cost-cutting measure, the company began removing dozens of titles from its streaming platforms this week. According to the report, the television division, which was hit hard in the second round of job cuts, is largely spared this time with a small number of layoffs.

Google Pay in conjunction with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on Tuesday launched the facility for users to make United Payments Interface (UPI) payments with RuPay credit cards. With this, users will now be able to link their RuPay credit cards with Google Pay to pay at all online and offline merchants where RuPay credit cards are accepted.
This is in line with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI)'s decision to allow the linking of RuPay credit cards to the UPI platform in June 2022.

Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Monday announced an ‘edit sent message’ feature for WhatsApp. From now, users on the instant messaging platform would be able to edit sent messages within 15 minutes of sending them.
Elaborating on the update, WhatsApp in a blog post said that the edit feature has been rolled out to users globally and the same will be available in the coming weeks. The feature is intended to give users a chance to fix spelling mistakes in their messages and thus comes with a time-cap of 15 minutes.

Veteran industrialist Karumuttu T Kannan (70) passed away in Madurai on Tuesday morning. Kannan was the chairman of Tamil Nadu-based Thiagarajar Mills and a board member of TVS Motor.
Kannan was also a leading educationalist and the president of Thiagarajar College, Madurai, and chairman and correspondent of Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai. According to media reports, his last rites will be performed on Wednesday at 2 pm in Kochadai in Madurai district.

Shares of Adani Group companies were trading higher for a third straight day on Tuesday after an interim report by the Supreme Court (SC)-appointed panel last Friday did not find any conclusive evidence to support allegations made by the US-based short seller Hindenburg Research.
Among individual stocks, Adani Enterprises, the flagship company of Adani Group, was locked in the temporary 15 per cent upper circuit at Rs 2,675 on the BSE at 09:34 am. In the past three trading days, the stock has zoomed 42 per cent from a level of Rs 1,888 on Thursday, May 18.
