San Francisco: Amazon.com Inc. has stopped buying a popular type of Google ad, according to people familiar with the decision. The move deepens the rift between the technology titans and signals Amazon’s growing ambition in the digital advertising market.

New Delhi: Top companies including Amazon and Coca-Cola may lease Indian Railways’ goods sheds, located in prime areas in big cities, and turn them into mechanized warehouses for their logistics networks.

US online retail giant Amazon has made a formal offer to buy a 60 per cent stake in India's leading e-commerce marketplace Flipkart, according to a report by CNBC TV18 which cited sources.

Amazon's offer to acquire a majority stake in Flipkart comes at a time when rival Walmart is close to completing a $12 billion deal to pick up an equivalent amount of stake in the Indian firm.

BENGALURU: Amazon’s international losses jumped 29% to $622 million for the quarter ending March 2018, as against $481 million for the corresponding period in the previous year. The web retailer’s year-on-year losses from its global business continue to rise largely due to its India investments.

Amazon is continuing to pepper India with its warehouses, announcing the opening of five new fulfillment centres, which will be ready in the next six months. This comes at a time when logistics and warehousing is becoming one of the most important investments for e-commerce companies in the country.

To be located in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Vijayawada and Kolkata, the five new centres will serve Amazon's core e-commerce business and will take the total number of warehouses of the company in the country to 67.
