US President Donald Trump on Monday (local time) issued a stern warning to China, saying he could impose tariffs of up to 155 per cent on Chinese goods from November 1 if the two countries fail to reach a trade agreement.

Speaking at the White House during a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Trump said Beijing had been “very respectful” and was already paying “tremendous amounts of money” under existing tariffs.

“India is not going to be buying Russian oil anymore,” he said, adding that the country had already de-escalated. “They have more or less stopped; they are pulling back. They bought about 38 per cent of the oil, and they won’t be doing it anymore,” he added.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved a 3 per cent hike in dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for 2.8 million state government employees and pensioners, news agency PTI reported.

The revision raises DA and DR from 55 per cent to 58 per cent of basic pay, with effect from July 1, 2025. The increased amount will be paid in cash starting October 2025, the state government said.
