Over 3,000 temporary employees have lost jobs with the country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) due to the ongoing slump in the automobile industry, a top company executive has said.

MSI Chairman R C Bhargava said contracts of the temporary workers were not renewed due to the slowdown while asserting that permanent workers have not been impacted.

In order to fast track electronics manufacturing in India, the government is meeting top bosses of smartphone makers like Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi as well as contract manufacturers like Foxconn, Dixon and Wistron on August 19. The roundtable meeting, to be chaired by electronics and IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, will be attended by chiefs of over 46 companies.

EBITDA pre IND AS 116 acc-ounting change was at Rs 2.7 bn, up 21% y-y and 3% ahead of our estimate. Repo-rted PAT came in at Rs 793 mn, 1% below our estimate. EBITDA margin pre IND AS 116 was at 12.3%, higher by 43bp y-y and 11bp against our estimate. This was due to positive surprise in EBITDA marg-in of new hospitals ex-Proton that was at 8.3% vs our estimate of 5.8%.

State-owned CIL’s 54 coal mining projects are facing delay due to various reasons such as contractual issues and delay in green clearances among others, the world’s largest coal miner said.

“A total of 120 coal projects costing Rs 20 crore and above are in different stages of implementation. Out of which 66 projects are on schedule and 54 projects are delayed,” Coal India Ltd (CIL) said in its annual report.

New Delhi: Fitch Ratings on Friday raised the outlook on Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) to positive from stable due to the company's potential to further deleverage following its announcement to eliminate its net debt by March 2021.

In a statement, Fitch said it is revising "the outlook on RIL's Long-Term Local-Currency issuer default rating (IDR) to Positive from Stable and has affirmed the rating at 'BBB'."

Kotak Mahindra Bank has revised interest rates on fixed deposits (FDs) days after RBI reduced repo rate earlier this month. Kotak Mahindra Bank's new FD rates came into effect from 9 August 2019. Other private sector lenders Axis Bank and ICICI Bank also revised interest rates effective 10th and 14th August respectively. Kotak Mahindra Bank offers an interest rate ranging from 3.50% to 6.90% for FDs maturing in 7 days to 10 years.

More than 30,000 employees of state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) took pledge to enhance national energy security on 64th Foundation Day on August 14, 2019. ONGC, the country’s largest oil and gas producer, celebrates this day every year to renew its pledge for national energy security. New Delhi: Digital payments firm Paytm on Thursday said it will invest Rs 750 crore to approximately double its monthly active user base on mobile to 250 million by March 2020.

The company expects its Paytm Inbox service to accelerate the growth as it has garnered 27 million monthly active users and expects additional 60-70 million new customers to come on board by end of the current fiscal year.
