YES Bank plans to bring down credit-to-deposit ratio to below 100% by March

Private sector lender YES Bank expects to bring down credit-to-deposit (C/D) ratio to below 100 per cent by March 2021, from the current levels of 122 per cent in order to bring a balance in the asset-liability equation. The C/D ratio was 122.9 per cent in September, down from 140.2 per cent in June. It was at 162.7 per cent in March.

Bank officials said while it was possible to bring down the ratio below 100 per cent much earlier, YES Bank, too, has to look at interest earning for which credit expansion is equally important.

SpiceJet on Monday said it would operate non-stop flights connecting Delhi and Mumbai with London from December 4. The airline will become the first Indian low-cost carrier to operate flights to the UK. At present, Air India and Tata group-owned Vistara, both full-service carriers, fly to Heathrow airport. While the return fare for economy class has been fixed at Rs 53,555, for business class it would be Rs 1,47,627 for Delhi, and Rs 1,53,383 for Mumbai.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday will hear a PIL seeking a CBI probe or an SIT investigation under a sitting or former Supreme Court or a High Court judge in the gruesome gang-rape and murder of a 19-year-old Dalit woman in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district.

A bench, headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde and comprising Justices AS Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian will take up the PIL filed by social activist Satyama Dubey and advocates Vishal Thakre and Rudra Pratap Yadav.

With a spike of 75,829 new cases and 940 deaths reported in India, the country's COVID-19 count crossed 65 lakh on Sunday, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).

In a letter, Arupananda Jena, State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC) convenor informed that State Bank Of India has reported highest 968 COVID-19 positive cases with one death when it comes to public sector bank. Axis Bank has reported highest 390 COVID positive cases, with no deaths in private banks.
