New Delhi, June 22: IT major Wipro's proposal to set up a special economic zone (SEZ) in Rajarhat, Bengal, was deferred by the Board of Approval (BoA) today as the Mamata Banerjee-government did not send its recommendations.

Commerce secretary Rita Teaotia, who heads the BoA, told The Telegraph that the proposal "has been deferred as we are still waiting for the state government's recommendations".

Wipro, India’s third largest IT services company, has tweaked the incentive structure for its top executives, wherein 50 per cent of the weightage will be given to the performance of the company while determining the incentives as compared to a particular business unit or account. IT major Wipro, along with Saudi Aramco and Princess Nourah University (PNU), today inaugurated Saudi Arabia's first all women business and technology park (WBP), which is expected to create nearly 21,000 jobs by 2025.

WBP, a joint venture of PNU (world's largest university for women) and Wipro Arabia, had Saudi Aramco as the strategic advisor and anchor of this initiative.
