To create ‘service differentiation’ in the highly exclusive luxury performance segment, India’s largest luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz inaugurated its first dedicated AMG Service Bay at the AMG Performance Centre, Pune, on Thursday. “The dedicated AMG service bay will offer personalised, prioritised servicing at the shortest turnaround time. Only trained manpower from Mercedes-Benz Academy will be working on the AMG and Specialty cars, using AMG special tools recommended by Mercedes-Benz.

Mercedes-Benz, the country's biggest luxury car maker, will start introducing vehicles meeting the stringent Bharat Stage VI (BS-VI) emission standards in India from next year. It is the first in the segment to say so.

The first such cars will be rolled out for the Delhi market; the central government has decided only BS-VI fuel must be supplied in the capital from April 1, two years before national rollout. All new vehicles sold at present comply with BS-IV norms.

The company through its 'Brand Tour' covering 12 locations in India is seeking to offer 'Mercedes-Benz experience' to prospective buyers in Tier II and Tier III cities, where it doesn't have a direct presence.

The latest service centre by Mercedes-Benz goes by the name Shaman Wheels and is situated in Goregaon near HUB mall. The said outlet is spread across an area of 20,000 sq. ft. The inauguration of the new facility has been done by Santosh Iyer, who is the Vice President of after sales, retail training and YPC along with Joachim Heer, Market Manager, After Sales, Sales Management and MPC overseas at Mercedes-Benz.

NEW DELHI: German luxury car maker Mercedes Benz today reported best ever sales in India for the first nine months this year with 11,869 units, up 19.6 per cent from the year-ago period, retaining the top slot in the luxury segment.

The company had sold 9,924 units in the January- September period of 2016.

The company launched the facelift of S-Class sedan globally and started the manufacturing of E-Class Cabriolet. At Auto Shanghai, Mercedes-Benz showcased its futuristic concept A sedan on which its future small products like the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, GLA, A-Class sedan will be based on. The company also reported an increase in revenue by 7% to euro 23.6 billion in the second quarter. Overall the car sales increased by 9% among which SUVs saw the major hike in global sales. The company has now already started planning for the 2018 calendar year and confirms the global debut of production version of A-Class sedan and will also be bringing in the long wheelbase version of the sedan.

Flagging concerns over the proposed hike in GST on luxury cars, German auto-maker Mercedes Benz has said it was eager to increase its output and headcount from the country if the government extended a little bit of support on taxation.

"We do not understand suddenly why the need to actually review the cess all over again. We have so much to contribute. We have high ends jobs that we are able to create, willing to create..." Mercedes Benz India Managing Director and CEO Roland Folger told PTI here.

New Delhi: German luxury carmaker Mercedes- Benz today launched AMG GLC 43 Coupe in India priced at Rs74.8 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

“This new SUV Coupe is going to be a key addition to our 43 AMG line and will be instrumental in further popularising the 43 AMG range to a new customer base,” Mercedes-Benz India managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) Roland Folger told reporters here.
