Sumter Electric Cooperative shines more light across the Sunshine State. Known as SECO, the customer-owned utility distributes electricity to 170,000 homes and businesses across the rural Central Florida region comprised of Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Levy, Marion, Pasco, and Sumter counties. The coop operates 11,350 miles of electric lines and 47 substations. SECO's engineers design electrical facilities for new shopping centers and business parks and perform cost estimates for putting utilities underground in subdivisions. The co-op is a member of and receives generation and transmission services from Seminole Electric Cooperative.

Sunflower Electric Power is an electricity generation and transmission cooperative. The utility has interests in six fossil-fueled generation facilities (600 MW of capacity) and operates a more-than-1,150-mile transmission system with 76 substations. Sunflower Electric Power provides electricity to its owners, six member distribution cooperatives which collectively have more than 51,000 customers in western Kansas; it also indirectly serves a further 10,000 meters as wholesale power suppliers to regional cities and towns.

Tacoma Power is the destiny of the citizens of the City of Destiny to get their power from Tacoma Power, which provides electric power services to more than 162,580 customers in Tacoma, Washington and surrounding areas. The utility, a division of Tacoma Public Utilities, one of the oldest and largest municipally owned utilities in the US, operates four hydroelectric power plants and approximately 2,275 miles of transmission and distribution lines. In addition, Tacoma Power offers energy efficiency products and services, manages fish hatcheries and recreational facilities, and operates the Click! Network, a high-speed telecommunications network (855 miles of cable).

Taiwan Power (Taipower) is looking to get by with a little help from its friends. With a generating capacity of more than 38,080 MW, the state-owned utility serves nearly 12 million industrial, commercial, and residential customers. Thermal sources (coal, oil, and liquefied natural gas) fuel most of Taipower's plants; nuclear energy and hydroelectric sources make up the balance. Unable to meet Taiwan's power needs on its own, the utility has opened its market to independent power producers, allowing companies to build power plants and sell to Taipower. Taipower has resumed construction on the nation's fourth nuclear plant. The Taiwan government has announced plans to privatize Taipower (it owned 97% in 2009).

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) keeps away malaise as it electrifies Malaysia. The largest power company in Southeast Asia, TNB generates two-thirds of the electricity on the Malaysian Peninsula. The company has a generating capacity of more than 11,940 MW; it also operates the national power transmission and distribution grid, which serves more than 7 million residential, industrial, and commercial customers. A host of subsidiaries support TNB's business; they include power equipment manufacturing, engineering, and real estate companies. Although Malaysia's power industry is undergoing deregulation, TNB has successfully resisted efforts to split up the company, which is 38%-owned by Khazanah Nasional Berhad.
