In 2009 New England Bancshares merged its former Enfield Federal Savings and Valley Banks subsidiaries to create New England Bank. It then acquired the three-branch Apple Valley Bank & Trust.

In New York, New York Community Bank operates through four divisions: Queens County Savings Bank, Richmond County Savings Bank, Roosevelt Savings Bank, and Roslyn Savings Bank.
