Named after President Abraham Lincoln's stepmother, SBLHC has more than 200 beds and provides a wide range of health care services including emergency medicine, behavioral health care, surgical services, and cancer treatment. The center also offers support groups and continuing education classes. SBLHC opened its doors in 1977 and is helmed by president Gary Barnett.

Scott & White serves the health care needs of Central Texas. The health care organization is a multi-specialty physician-led organization that operates hospitals in Temple, Brenham, Killeen, Round Rock, Taylor, and Waco. It also operates some 60 regional clinics throughout the area. More than 1,100 doctors are associated with the health network. Scott & White's flagship campus in Temple has about 640 beds and includes a children's hospital, a long-term acute care hospital, and a mental health clinic. Founded in the 1890s, Scott & White is a teaching affiliate of Texas A&M University and is also engaged in medical research. Additionally, the organization owns the Scott & White Health Plan.

Scottsdale Healthcare was established in 1962 as City Hospital of Scottsdale.
