Horizon Health was acquired by psychiatric hospital operator Psychiatric Solutions in 2007. In the acquisition, Psychiatric Solutions gained 15 freestanding psychiatric hospitals operated by Horizon Health and transferred them to its existing hospital portfolio.

Hospital Physician Partners, Inc. company supplies hospitals in 20 states with thousands of physicians and allied health care professionals. Hospital Physician Partners specializes in emergency medicine and hospitalist program management and recruitment. (Hospitalists coordinate the care of hospital patients.) Through its PhyAmerica Government Services subsidiary, Hospital Physician Partners supplies medical personnel to military hospitals, clinics, and urgent-care centers. It also provides staffing for state-run facilities and other government health care entities. Hospital Physician Partners is owned by private-equity firm Beecken Petty O'Keefe.
