The UCLA Foundation is the giving, receiving and investing arm of the University. The University of Cincinnati Foundation is the private sector fund-raising entity for the University and its campuses, colleges, departments and units. We are charged with encouraging philanthropy for the University and to secure and steward contributions in support of UC's education, research and service goals. The University of Cincinnati Foundation raises funds that support programs and research for campuses and colleges of the University of Cincinnati. Like most university foundations, it depends heavily upon the generosity of school alumni and families of alumni for funds, which have gone towards such projects as scholarships and facility renovations (donors may specify where they want their gifts to be spent).

The University of Iowa Foundation was organized in 1956 to help the University meet needs beyond those provided for by state support, and to reach new levels of distinction by generating significant private gift support. The University of Iowa—which as a state institution receives 13.14 percent of its total budget from state appropriations—acknowledges the UI Foundation as the preferred channel for private contributions that benefit all areas of the University. Foundation staff members work with alumni and friends to generate funds for student scholarships, professorships, facilities, equipment, research, outreach and service programs, and other University priorities.

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Foundation is a nonprofit organization that raises and manages private funds for the benefit of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
