The Optical Components segment engages in the design and manufacture of specialty optical fiber, fiber assemblies, and phase masks primarily used by manufacturers of fiber optic sensors, fiber optic gyroscopes, fiber lasers, and optical amplifiers in industrial, defense, medical, and telecommunications markets. The company sells its products directly, as well as through distributors and integrators to original equipment manufacturers primarily in Europe and the Pacific Rim.
