The entire property including a sizeable amount of motion picture equipment and properties was acquired by the Government of India for a sum of Rs. 11.20 lacs in April 1960. Offers 3 year post-graduate diploma course in film & television in direction, cinematography, editing, audiography and two year post graduate diploma course in art direction & acting.

Apart from teaching editing skills, the academy will also train the students in basics of videography and script writing. With the aim of making each and every student a media professional, the institute will give complete space to experiment with ones skills and nurture the talent.
