26/11 Mumbai attack: Court extends Tahawwur Rana's custody for 12 days

Delhi's Patiala House Court on Monday extended by 12 days the NIA custody of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks accused Tahawwur Hussain Rana. Rana was brought to the court amid tight security.
Rana was brought to India after the US Supreme Court on April 4 dismissed his review plea against his extradition.
On November 26, 2008, a group of 10 Pakistani terrorists went on a rampage in Mumbai, carrying out coordinated attacks on a railway station, two luxury hotels and a Jewish centre, after they sneaked into India's financial capital using the sea route through the Arabian Sea.
As many as 166 people were killed in the nearly 60-hour assault.

Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection rose 12.6 per cent Y-o-Y to an all-time high of about Rs 2.37 lakh crore in April, government data showed on Thursday.
The GST mop-up was Rs 2.10 lakh crore in April 2024 -- the second highest collection ever since the roll-out of the indirect tax regime on July 1, 2017. In March 2025, the collection was Rs 1.96 lakh crore.

The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to entertain a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking a judicial inquiry into the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, stating that such actions could "demoralise" security forces at a crucial time, reported Live Law.
Slamming the petitioners, the court said the petitioners should have considered the sensitivity of the matter before moving the court.

Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions in April declined by 2 per cent to 17.89 billion, while the transaction value dropped by 3 per cent to ₹23.95 trillion, following a stellar performance in March 2025 driven by year-end sales.
In March, the transaction volume stood at 18.30 billion and the value at ₹24.77 trillion, reflecting increases of 14 per cent and 13 per cent, respectively, over February, according to data from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).

The Delhi High Court on Thursday strongly reprimanded Yoga guru Ramdev for allegedly repeating his controversial "sharbat jihad" comments against Hamdard’s Rooh Afza in a fresh video, despite earlier court warnings, reported LiveLaw.
The court stated that Ramdev was "not in control of anyone" and "lived in his own world", observing that his actions amounted to prima facie contempt of court.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) today registered a 48 per cent jump in consolidated net profit at ₹3,014 crore for March quarter of financial year 2024-25 (FY25), driven by higher income and revenue growth. Adani ports had registered a profit of ₹2,040 crore in the year-ago period.
The total income increased to ₹8,769.63 crore from ₹7,199.94 crore in the March quarter, a rise of about 22 per cent.
