Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Russia’s Public Joint Stock Company United Aircraft Corporation (PJSC-UAC) to produce the SJ-100 civil commuter aircraft. The agreement was signed in Moscow on Monday.

The SJ-100 is a twin-engine, narrow-body aircraft designed for short-haul flights.

Jana Small Finance Bank (SFB) on Tuesday said that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has returned its application seeking voluntary transition into a universal bank due to non-fulfilment of the criteria prescribed by the central bank.

Jana SFB had applied for transition into a universal bank earlier this year (FY26), after it closed the financial year 2025 (FY25) with gross non-performing assets (NPAs) and net NPA ratio of below 3 per cent and 1 per cent respectively for two consecutive years.

According to people familiar with the matter, the three trustees — Chairman Noel Tata, Venu Srinivasan, chairman of TVS Group, and former defence secretary Vijay Singh — opposed his renewal.
