Volvo Cars, the Swedish luxury car-maker, has announced it will remove single-use plastics from all its offices, canteens and events across the globe by the end of 2019. The decision, the company said, reflects its active support of the UN Environment Clean Seas campaign, and underlines its ambition to minimise its global environmental footprint.

China launched a relay satellite early on Monday designed to establish a communication link between earth and a planned lunar probe that will explore the dark side of the moon, the official Xinhua news agency said.
