KOLKATA: Ten out of 24 thermal power stations of India’s largest power generation company, NTPC, are stranded with zero fuel inventory or stocks that won’t last a day.

This has hit generation and revenue as the state-run firm is unable to cater to higher demand, company executives said.

Around 29 operational creditors to Essar Steel have moved the Ahmedabad bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) against the resolution plan submitted by ArcelorMittal and passed by the committee of creditors (CoC).

The claims of these 29 creditors together add up to around RS 607 crore. Of these, 27 creditors including major ones —Ideal Movers, Kamaljeet Ahluwalia, Arfin India, Sakar Industries and Apex Commodities — have made a claim of Rs 360.39 crore on Essar Steel.

Ashok Leyland managing director (MD) and CEO Vinod K Dasari resigned from his post on Tuesday. He tendered his resignation at the board meeting held to announce the audited results of the company, a Hinduja Group flagship, for the second quarter.

Market regulator Sebi tightened disclosure and review norms for credit rating agencies (CRAs) on Tuesday, following concerns this year after they failed to raise timely red flags ahead of collapse of IL&FS.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) ordered CRAs to analyse deterioration in the liquidity conditions of an issuer, while monitoring its repayment schedules and taking into account any asset-liability mismatches.

The Reserve Bank Tuesday announced it will inject Rs 12,000 crore into the system through purchase of government securities on November 15.

"Based on an assessment of prevailing liquidity conditions and also of the durable liquidity needs going forward, the RBI has decided to conduct purchase of the following government securities under Open Market Operations for an aggregate amount of Rs 120 billion on November 15, 2018 (Thursday)...," it said in a statement.
