Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, who filed nomination for the Legislative Council on Monday, has declared that he and his family have assets worth Rs 143.26 crore, including movable and immovable property, but does not own a car.

Uddhav Thackeray, who is also the president of the Shiv Sena, is contesting his first election ever. Earlier, his son Aaditya became the first member of the Thackeray family to contest an election when he was fielded by the party during assembly election last year.

According to reports, he has been kept under observation in the cardio-thoracic ward.

The Indian Railways is planning to gradually resume passenger train services from May 12, an official statement from the Ministry of Railways said.

Initially, the operations will resume for 15 pairs of trains (30 return journeys).

The Congress party on Sunday announced that it will withdraw one of its two nominees for the Maharashtra Legislative Council elections, paving way for state's chief minister Uddhav Thackeray to enter the Legislative Council unopposed. The Elections are scheduled for May 21.
