BHEL commissions Unit-4 of Teesta Low Dam hydro power project

State-run BHEL on Friday said it has commissioned the fourth and last unit of the 4x40 MW Teesta Low Dam Hydro Electric Project (HEP) Stage-IV in West Bengal.

A run-of-the-river greenfield project located in Darjeeling district of West Bengal, Teesta HEP has been set up by NHPC Ltd, on the River Teesta, BHEL said in a release.

NEW DELHI: State-run BHEL has commissioned the second 500 MW thermal unit at Marwa Thermal Power Station in Chhattisgarh.

"Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has successfully commissioned the second 500 MW (megawatt) thermal unit at Marwa Thermal Power Station in Chhattisgarh," the power equipment manufacturer said in a regulatory filing.

NEW DELHI: State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has bagged orders for setting up 80 mw of solar photovoltaic power plants on engineering, procurement and construction basis.

The orders, valued at Rs 437 crore, have been placed by Neyveli Lignite Corporation LTd (NLC) and Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL).

NHPC Ltd, the hydroelectric power developer, and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), the manufacturer of heavy electrical equipment, have agreed for joint development of hydroelectric projects in overseas markets.

“The company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with BHEL for undertaking of hydropower projects in overseas markets,” said NHPC in a BSE filing on July 21, 2016.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) share price surged over 6 per cent on Wednesday after Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company (Pvt) Limited (BIFPCL), the joint venture enterprise inked the deal with the state-owned power equipment maker.

At 11.39 am, share price of the company was trending 3.43 per cent up at Rs 143.05. The scrip opened at Rs 139 and has touched a high and low of Rs 146.85 and Rs 139, respectively in trade so far. Sensex was trading 37.34 points down at 27,770.80.

State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) today said that it has commissioned two units of 14 Megawatts each at Salma Hydro Electric Project in Afghanistan.

The Salma dam, or the Afghan-India Friendship dam, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in presence of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, BHEL said in a statement.

State-run power equipment maker BHEL has commissioned another 195 MW unit at Muzaffarpur thermal power station in Bihar.

This is the second 195 MW unit to be commissioned by BHEL at the 2x195 MW Muzaffarpur Thermal Power Station Stage-II of Kanti Bijlee Utpadan Nigam Limited (KBUNL), a joint venture of NTPC and BSPGCL, the company said in a press release.

State-run BHEL on Wednesday said it has commissioned another 520 MW coal-based power generating unit in Andhra Pradesh.

The unit has been commissioned at the 2x520 MW Vizag thermal power project of Hinduja National Power Co Ltd (HNPCL), Visakhapatnam, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited said in a statement.

The slowdown in the capital goods industry has pushed Union government-controlled Bhel (Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd) into its first-ever annual loss of Rs 896 crore for the year ended March. It had recorded a profit of Rs 1,452 crore in 2014-15.

On stand-alone basis, its net profit declined 60 per cent to Rs 359.6 crore for the quarter ended March, against Rs 888 crore in 2014-15, on lower income from operations. Total income from operations fell 21.5 per cent to Rs 10,005 crore during January-March 2016 compared to Rs 12,745 crore a year ago. Total expenses decreased to Rs 9,884 crore, over Rs 11,345 crore a year ago.
