News Corp.'s Fox Entertainment owns 20% of Regency and distributes the company's movies worldwide. Fox also co-finances many of Regency's films. The company's Regency Television unit had produced TV shows such as Malcolm in the Middle and The Bernie Mac Show; however, the company had failed to find another hit after those two shows series ran their course, and in 2008 Regency closed the TV unit.
