Harmonics Limited was formed in the early 1990s to develop, manufacture and market patented harmonics suppression technology which had been designed to counter the damage of the 3rd harmonic current generated by heavy computer demand on power distribution systems. That demand, which creates a non linear load on the transformer, also creates harmonic currents including the damaging 3rd, which wastes electrical capacity, causes excessive waste heat on transformers, switch gear and wiring, requires extra energy and increases operating costs.
