The company specializes in transportation projects including industrial roads, highways, storage yards, parking lots, city streets, and airport runways. Dunn Construction also operates about half a dozen asphalt plants in Alabama and has a fleet of more than 40 dump trucks and other road building equipment. Founded in 1878 as a railroad construction firm by brothers Evans and Thomas Dunn, the group also includes sister company Dunn Roadbuilders, which serves southeast and east-central Mississippi.

Dycom Industries for construction and engineering assistance. Operating through more than 30 subsidiaries, the company primarily designs, builds, and maintains coaxial, copper, and fiber-optic cable systems for local and long-distance phone companies and cable television operators. Dycom also provides wiring services for businesses and government agencies, installs and maintains electrical lines for utilities, and locates underground wires and pipelines for excavators. Dycom's operating subsidiaries are located in 18 states and Alberta, Canada. AT&T, Comcast, and Verizon Communications are its top customers, together accounting for nearly half of sales.

E.R. Snell Contractor, Inc. company specializes in highway construction, grading, and paving. It works on roads, bridges, culverts, and industrial and commercial structures in Georgia. The group also sells asphalt and performs asphalt paving. Its EZ Street cold asphalt mix is used by departments of transportation around the country in order to repair potholes and utility cuts to roads. The company, which operates about a dozen plants, has roots that reach back to 1923, when G. F. Snell and his son E. R. started a rock culvert and wall building business. The company incorporated in 1959 and it continues to be owned and managed by the Snell family.
