Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction quenches the world's thirst for power and water. The company, which is partially owned by Doosan, builds nuclear, thermal, combined cycle, cogeneration, and hydro-power plants worldwide, with projects under way in China, India, South Korea, and the US, among other countries. Doosan Heavy also specializes in building seawater desalination facilities, in addition to water and wastewater plants. Through various other divisions, it builds highways, subways, high-speed railroads, tunnels, gas pipelines, office buildings, and apartments, and supplies casting and forging products and materials handling equipment. Doosan Heavy was established in 1962.

Doster does what it takes to build its client list. Doster Construction provides construction, design, and project management services for multi-unit residential, health care, educational, and industrial construction projects. Dredging, Environmental and Marine Engineering keeps dredging work from being anything but drudgery. Also known as DEME, it is one of the largest marine engineering companies in the world. Through its subsidiaries, the group is involved in dredging and land reclamation, hydraulic engineering, environmental remediation, offshore oil and gas services, and marine aggregates. Its fleet of 80 main vessels includes the world's largest cutter suction dredger, the 38,000 hp D'Artagnan. DEME also has been instrumental in building many of Northern Europe's offshore wind farms. DEME has operations in 27 countries; it's equally owned by Ackermans & Van Haaren and Compagnie d'Enteprises.

Dunn Construction Company has been there and done that. The company specializes in transportation projects including industrial roads, highways, storage yards, parking lots, city streets, and airport runways. Dunn Construction also operates about half a dozen asphalt plants in Alabama and has a fleet of more than 40 dump trucks and other road building equipment. Founded in 1878 as a railroad construction firm by brothers Evans and Thomas Dunn, the group also includes sister company Dunn Roadbuilders, which serves southeast and east-central Mississippi.

Dycom Industries for construction and engineering assistance. Operating through more than 30 subsidiaries, the company primarily designs, builds, and maintains coaxial, copper, and fiber-optic cable systems for local and long-distance phone companies and cable television operators. Dycom also provides wiring services for businesses and government agencies, installs and maintains electrical lines for utilities, and locates underground wires and pipelines for excavators. Dycom's operating subsidiaries are located in 18 states and Alberta, Canada. AT&T, Comcast, and Verizon Communications are its top customers, together accounting for nearly half of sales.
