The company's holdings span the European continent with investments in wind farms in Spain, Estonia, and Italy as well as holdings in Panama, India, and China. Holdings include Eolica el Pedregoso, Elolica de Pino, Parque Eolico Hinojal, Enrilews, and OU Est Wind Power. The company also has holdings in solar power and biomass operations in Spain through Invetem Mediterranea and Gestora Fotovoltaica de Castellon.

First Wind, wind is the first and last item in its business model. The vertically integrated energy company (formerly UPC Wind) develops, owns, and operates wind energy plants in the Northeastern and Western US, and Hawaii. Its six projects in Hawaii, Maine, Vermont, New York, and Utah generate more than 500 MW of electricity. First Wind, which targets states with high energy prices, renewable energy requirements, and favorable wind conditions, plans to have more than 2,000 MW of capacity by the end 2014. The company was formed in 2002 by individuals experienced with building wind power plants in Italy. In 2010 First Wind began construction of its 102 MW Utah-based Milford Wind project.

GDF SUEZ Energy North America (GDF-SENA) manages GDF Suez Energy International's energy business in Canada, Mexico, and the US. The company develops and operates electricity and cogeneration facilities, markets and sells energy products and services, and imports and distributes natural gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG). It serves both commercial and industrial customers. (GDF-SENA)'s primary unit (GDF SUEZ Energy Generation NA) owns and operates 60 power, cogeneration, steam, and chilled-water facilities, including those in construction, representing a capacity of 7,500 MW of electricity generation, 6 million pounds per hour of steam, and 42,000 tons per hour of chilled water.
