Artesian Resources Corporation, through its subsidiaries, provides water, wastewater, and engineering services on the Delmarva Peninsula. It distributes and sells water to residential, commercial, industrial, governmental, municipal, and utility customers in the states of Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. The company also provides water for public and private fire protection to customers in its service territories. In addition, it designs and builds water and wastewater infrastructure; and provides contract water, wastewater, and engineering services. It served customers through approximately 1,124 miles of transmission and distribution mains. The company was founded in 1905 and is headquartered in Newark, Delaware.

It serves a population of 436,300 in an area encompassing some 1,040 square kilometers. It operates 50 sites and has a 2,755-km network of water mains. The company also has nonregulated operations, including Aqua Care, which provides plumbing services and home emergency insurance. The utility is owned by Cascal BV, which itself is owned by UK water and wastewater treatment provider Biwater. The company was formed by the 1994 amalgamation of Bournemouth & District Water Co. and West Hampshire Water Co.

Bristol Water Group, one of the largest independent water suppliers in the UK. Through primary operating subsidiary Bristol Water plc, the group supplies water to about 500,800 customers, representing a population of more than 1.1 million. Bristol Water maintains about 6,600 km. of mains in a service territory that encompasses some 2,400 sq. km., and includes Bristol, Somerset, Gloucestershire, and Wiltshire. The group has completed its disposal of its nonregulated operations and is focusing on its core regulated water business.
