Its Adler & Co. subsidiary operates two private banking branches serving high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors in Zurich and Basel. More than 20 cantonal banks today vie for the market share not dominated by UBS or Credit Suisse. Like all contanal banks, the cantonal government provides backing for LUKB's lending products. LUKB was founded in 1850 and began trading publicly in 2001; the canton owns about two-thirds of the bank.

Malaysia's largest bank, Malayan Banking Berhad (better known as Maybank) and its subsidiaries operate some 500 branches, mostly in Malaysia, but also in Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and elsewhere throughout Southeast Asia. Its core services consist of deposits, mortgages and other loans, and credit cards to individuals and businesses. Other offerings include investment banking, asset management, online banking, brokerage, insurance, unit trusts and other investments, and corporate finance.
