University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina is an integrated non-profit health delivery system serving a 29-county area of eastern North Carolina. University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina is academically affiliated with Brody School of Medicine at Eastern Carolina University. The system is comprised of half a dozen hospitals, including the acute care Pitt County Memorial Hospital (PCMH), as well as physicians' practices and clinics, surgery centers, a home health service, and numerous community health programs. University Medical Center of Southern Nevada is an affiliate of the University of Nevada School of Medicine. The medical center includes a teaching hospital and a network of community and urgent care health centers. Among its specialized services are cancer treatment, heart care, pediatrics, and rehabilitation. It also offers birthing, wound and burn care, neurological disorder, and Level 1 trauma centers. University Medical Center serves southern Nevada along with parts of Arizona, California, and Utah. The medical center opened its doors in 1931 with 20 beds.

The hospital facility provides specialty care including cardiovascular, cancer, neurological, behavioral health, emergency, and ambulatory services, among others. The University of Connecticut Health Center was founded in 1961.
