RehabCare Group, Inc. provides rehabilitation program management services in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient facilities, and other long-term care facilities in the United States. It operates in two segments, Program Management Services and Hospitals. The Program Management Services segment provides hospital rehabilitation services, including inpatient acute and subacute rehabilitation for conditions, such as stroke, orthopedic conditions, head injuries, cancer, heart failure, burns, and wounds; and outpatient therapy programs for hospital-based and satellite programs. This segment also offers skilled nursing rehabilitation services, such as contract therapy in skilled nursing, long-term care, and assisted living facilities for neurological, orthopedic, and other medical conditions; resident-centered management consulting services; and staffing services for therapists and nurses. The Hospital segment provides therapeutic and clinical care to patients with medically complex diagnoses; and interdisciplinary rehabilitation services to patients on an inpatient and outpatient basis. As of March 2, 2010, RehabCare Group, Inc. operated 34 long-term acute care and rehabilitation hospitals. The company was founded in 1982 and is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.

Rex is a king of health care in Raleigh. Part of the UNC HealthCare System, Rex Healthcare is a not-for-profit health care provider which serves residents of Raleigh and the rest of Wake County, North Carolina. Founded in 1894, Rex Healthcare includes the 430-bed acute-care Rex Hospital and two nursing homes with 230 beds, as well as primary and specialty care clinics throughout the area. Specialty centers and clinics provide services such as birthing, cancer treatment, same-day surgery, heart and vascular care, pain management, and sleep disorder therapy. Rex also provides home health and mobile emergency medical services. UNC HealthCare also includes affiliate UNC Hospitals.

River Parishes Hospital provides acute medical care for residents of Louisiana living between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. The facility has more than 100 beds. Among its specialty services are cancer treatment, emergency medicine, obstetrics, and surgery. Its emergency department treats more than 18,000 patients each year. LifePoint Hospitals bought the facilty from Universal Health Services in 2004.

Riverview Hospital provides general medical and surgical care to residents in Hamilton County, just north of Indianapolis in central Indiana. With about 150 beds, the hospital is a full-service facility and offers specialty care in a number of areas, including heart disease, cancer, women's health, and orthopedics. In addition to its main campus, Riverview operates several outpatient facilities, including an occupational health center, a community health clinic, and several rehab and fitness centers. Its Riverview Medical Group is a network of affiliated primary and specialty care doctors with offices located throughout the hospital's service area.

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) is the flagship facility of the Robert Wood Johnson Health System and Network. The medical center offers patients acute and tertiary care, including cardiovascular services, organ and tissue transplantation, pediatric care (at The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital), Level 1 trauma care, cancer treatment (at the Cancer Hospital of New Jersey), women's imaging, and more. Founded in 1884, the facility has approximately 580 beds and serves as a teaching center for the UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. RWJUH treats more than 200,000 patients each year.
