Founded in 1983, the hospital provides a comprehensive range of medical services specifically for children and adolescents in the greater Phoenix area. The hospital has about 350 beds and provides care in a number of pediatric sub-specialties, including childhood cancers, neuroscience, heart disease, trauma, and orthopedics. In addition to a newborn intensive care unit (NICU) at its main campus, PCH operates a second NICU on the campus of Banner Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center (a member of Banner Health). With more than 400 physicians on staff, the former Fayette Community Hospital has the ability to treat just about whatever walks through its doors -- from ear, nose, throat problems to pediatric dentistry. The about 140-bed hospital opened in 1997 and is part of Piedmont Healthcare.
