Fall Creek Vineyards was established in 1975 by Texas businessman/rancher, Ed Auler and his wife, Susan. The vineyards are located eighty miles northwest of Austin in the Texas Hill Country where the sandy loam soil, warm days and cool breezes off Lake Buchanan provide an excellent microclimate for growing premium wine grapes.The inspiration for the winery came in 1973 when the Aulers, on a trip to France, noted remarkable similarities in the soil, terrain and microclimate of parts of the French wine country and their own ranch. “I became convinced that certain parts of the Texas Hill Country would be ideally suited to grape growing,” says Ed.Fall Creek Vineyards is named after gorgeous, spring-fed Fall Creek, which flows through the Auler family’s ranch near the winery. Fall Creek empties into the Colorado River at the spectacular Fall Creek waterfalls. The 90-foot waterfalls have been a landmark since the time of early man and continue to be one today. Vanishing Texas River Cruise provides tours of the Fall Creek waterfalls daily.

Paternina makes part of the history of Spanish wine, of the history of La Rioja. It was inaugurated in 1896 and since then this Riojan wine cellar has been faithful to its history yet at the same time renewing itself. For dinner or dessert, Federico Paternina fills the glass. The company produces and distributes wine from Spain's famed La Rioja region. Its labels include Banda Azul, Clos, Conde de los Andes, and Monte Haro. Though wine provides a great majority of the company's sales, Paternina also produces brandy and sherry. Paternina sells worldwide, but Spain accounts for most of its revenues. The Eguiz�bal family bought the seized Federico Paternina vineyards in an auction (from the Spanish government) for a single peseta in 1984. Chairman Marcos Eguiz�bal Ramirez owns more than 80% of the company. Founded in 1896, the winery uses cellars dating back to the 1500s.

Hi. I'm Tito Beveridge and I'm the founder and owner of Titos Handmade Vodka. I'm from San Antonio, Texas. I went to Vanderbilt for a year then to UT, University of Texas at Austin. I graduated with degrees in geology and geophysics. I got into the oil and gas business and did that in Texas and then down in Venezuela and Colombia and ran heli-portable dynamite seismic crews down there and came back and started a drilling company in Houston, got tired of chasing the buck and decided to move back to Austin, Tx.I did ground water geology here and got in the mortgage business and it was when i was in the mortgage business that i started making flavored vodka for my friends for christmas presents. That was in about i guess '92, '93. I was at a party one time and a stranger came up to me and said 'Hey you're the vodka guy' and i was like no, contraire, i am the mortgage guy. And that's when i kinda started thinking that this guy's telling me i need to go sell my flavored vodkas and this was the first time i really started thinking seriously about it.

A family hobby has turned into a flourishing family business. Jerry and Flora Komes started Flora Springs Wine Company as a single vineyard to keep them busy during retirement. The company, now run by their children John Komes and Julie Garvey and their families) operates a dozen Napa Valley vineyards and a winery. It distributes its red and white wine varietals under the Flora Springs label through its tasting room, via its Web site, and by mail order to states that allow such shipments. Flora Springs also offers tastings for corporate and group events.
