E. & J. Gallo Winery brings merlot to the masses. The company is one of the world's largest winemakers, thanks in part to its low-end jug and box brands, including Carlo Rossi and Boone's Farm brands. Erath Vineyards Winery operates vineyards and a winery in Oregon's Willamette Valley. Erath's specialty is Pinot Noir, but it also produces Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc varietals. Erath farms 118 acres of land, purchases grapes from an additional 130 acres in Oregon, and produces approximately 65,000 cases of wine per year. Wines are sold under the Erath label and are available online and at the winery, where tastings take place daily. Dick Erath founded Erath Vineyards in 1967, which was among the first vineyards in the state of Oregon.

Korbel produces champagnes and other wines from the fruit of its its vineyards and the products of its winery and distillery along California's Russian River in western Sonoma County. Long noted for its premium champagne and less expensive versions of the sparkling wine, Korbel also bottles a cabernet sauvignon from grapes grown in the nearby Alexander Valley, and a chardonnay. Korbel diversified by buying three wineries in Sonoma County; and a line of beer and ale -- Russian River Brewing -- which was eventually sold to its head brewmaster.

Fall Creek Vineyards was established in 1975 by Texas businessman/rancher, Ed Auler and his wife, Susan. The vineyards are located eighty miles northwest of Austin in the Texas Hill Country where the sandy loam soil, warm days and cool breezes off Lake Buchanan provide an excellent microclimate for growing premium wine grapes.The inspiration for the winery came in 1973 when the Aulers, on a trip to France, noted remarkable similarities in the soil, terrain and microclimate of parts of the French wine country and their own ranch. “I became convinced that certain parts of the Texas Hill Country would be ideally suited to grape growing,” says Ed.Fall Creek Vineyards is named after gorgeous, spring-fed Fall Creek, which flows through the Auler family’s ranch near the winery. Fall Creek empties into the Colorado River at the spectacular Fall Creek waterfalls. The 90-foot waterfalls have been a landmark since the time of early man and continue to be one today. Vanishing Texas River Cruise provides tours of the Fall Creek waterfalls daily.
