Save the Children helps poor and malnourished children in a dozen US states and more than 100 countries in areas such as education, health care, food security, and economic development. The humanitarian organization also participates in international disaster relief efforts for children and their families. Save the Children spends 90% of its budget on program services, with the rest going toward administration and fundraising. Save the Children was founded in 1932, inspired by the international children's rights movement begun in the UK in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb, founder of the British Save the Children Fund. Save the Children a member of the International Save the Children Alliance.
