Arthrex designs and makes products for arthroscopic and orthopedic surgery, including the evocatively named hip-length shaver blades and burrs, midfoot plates, Achilles tendon reattachment bridges, and suture anchors. Arthrex distributes more than 4,000 products to hospitals and surgeons throughout the US and in some 70 other countries. The company's also supplies products to the the US military and navy. Established in 1984, the privately-held company operates from more than a dozen locations in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Arthrex is led by president Reinhold Schmieding.
