Tata Motors to supply 619 trucks to Indian Army

Tata Motors has said it has signed a follow-on contract with the Indian Army to supply 619 units of its 6X6 HMV (high-mobility vehicle) multi-axle truck.
Built with a material handling crane, the Tata 6X6 HMV is meant for loading-unloading and transportation of ammunition pallets, spares and other operational equipment.
This is in conjunction to an earlier order awarded by the Army to Tata Motors for 1,239 units of the 6X6 HMV. This is the single largest order awarded to an Indian private original equipment manufacturer in land systems by the Indian Army under the defence ministry’s defence procurement procedure, Tata Motors stated.
Developed indigenously, the Tata 6X6 high-mobility all-terrain all-wheel drive vehicle has been designed to cope with extreme on or off-road loads and has gone through trials, including deep water-fording, on cross-country terrains and plains.
Vernon Noronha, vice-president (defence and government business) at Tata Motors, said, “We, at Tata Motors, are extremely encouraged by the country’s thrust towards ‘indigenisation’, which not only helps strengthen the country’s defence manufacturing base but also emphasises on cost-effective maintenance, serviceability and upgradation of defence equipment. We have successfully competed against products from rival bidders, from top European and global defence companies, underlining the stringent requirements of the Indian Army and the global standards of our defence offerings.”

India's Muthoot Finance is planning to raise funds through US dollar-denominated bonds maturing in three years and nine months and has provided initial guidance for a coupon of around 7.375 per cent, two bankers said on Tuesday.
These Regulation-S dollar bonds are expected to be priced later in the day or early on Wednesday, the bankers said, declining to be named as they are not authorised to speak to the media.

Tech giant Microsoft Corporation recently acquired 48 acres of land in Hyderabad in a transaction estimated to be worth around Rs 267 crore.
The acquisition of the property was facilitated through Sai Balaji Developers, a land aggregator situated in Ranga Reddy district, as indicated in the documentation shared by data analytics company Propstack, according to a report in The Economic Times (ET).

Shares of Shakti Pumps (SPIL) locked in the upper circuit for the fifth straight day, up 5 per cent at Rs 2,585.85 per share on the BSE in Monday's intraday deals. This came after the company reported a robust March quarter (Q4FY24) earnings and strong order book. In comparison, the S&P BSE Midcap and Smallcap index were down by 1 per cent.
The stock of the company is trading at its record high level and has rallied 28 per cent in past one week. Moreover, in the past 33 trading days, the stock has more than doubled or zoomed 104 per cent from Rs 1,121 on March 14, 2024.
