US President Barack Obama Broke Twitter World Record in Just 5 Hours

US President Barack Obama, who signed up for his Twitter account (@POTUS) two days ago, has broken a Guinness World Record, he gained 1 million followers in less than 5 hours. Previously, this record was formerly held by actor Robert Downey Jr., who hit 1 million in 23 hours and 22 minutes in back April 2014.
The US President already has the account @BarackObama, which has nearly 60 million followers. However, this new @POTUS account is associated with the presidential office. In his tweet Obama puts it as, “The handle comes with the house.”

Violent crimes against women and girls were increasing by the day as Tamil Nadu has come under the grip of alcohol, BJP state chief Nainar Nagenthran alleged on Monday.

Infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Monday said it has bagged a "significant" order for the Hyderabad Greenfield Radial Road project.
The contract, awarded to L&T's transportation infrastructure business vertical, covers the second phase of the project in Ranga Reddy district.
L&T classifies an order amount ranging between Rs 1,000 cr to Rs 2,500 cr as 'significant'.

The Andhra Pradesh government has approved a policy allowing qualified postgraduate Ayurvedic doctors to independently perform select surgical procedures in the state. The decision has triggered strong opposition from the Indian Medical Association (IMA), which has raised concerns over patient safety, medical training standards and the legal validity of the move, particularly as the issue remains pending before the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court on Monday stayed a Delhi High Court order that granted bail to former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the 2017 Unnao rape case, Bar and Bench reported.
The matter was heard by a vacation bench of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justices J K Maheshwari and Augustine George Masih.
