Modi, Macron launch UP's biggest solar power plant

DADAR KALAN (Mirzapur): Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French president Emmanuel Macron jointly inaugurated the largest solar power plant of the state at Dadar Kalan village of Chhanvey block of Mirzapur district on Monday.

While the PM was in his usual attire of Kurta Payjama, Macron was in black suit. However, both were wearing a maroon scarf around their neck which provided a distinct touch to the two dignitaries, who spent around 20 minutes at the inauguration ceremony.

Both the leaders, in the presence of CM of the state Yogi Adityanath and other VIPs, pulled the string of the plaque which had the detailed inscriptions, in golden colour, about the power plant. This is the biggest solar power plant in the state with 75 MW of electricity production.

Soon after unveiling of the plaque, both Modi and Macron, holding one another's hands, posed for picture. While Macron was waving to a select group of photographer who were allowed at the venue, Modi was showing the victory sign, marking a big achievement in the form of the power plant.

Later, both the leaders met the Indian and French dignitaries present at the venue. As the VIPs were preparing to leave the venue, which was located 1km away from the helipad (at the top most place of the 380 acre of the power plant's hilly terrain), PM Modi once again called Macron and together both the leaders witnessed the entire power plant wherein the French company has installed 1.18 lakh solar panels which will produce 15.6 crore units of electricity annually.

Both the leaders again posed for pictures with the vast power plant in the background and left for Varanasi.
