Energy giant Adani Mining Australia on Friday said its billion dollar Carmichael project in central Queensland has created jobs for more than 1,500 people and awarded over 1.5 billion Australian dollars ($1.09 billion) in contracts.

The company said construction of the railway line and mine was set to continue through 2021 and it was expecting to generate more direct jobs.

Dubai authorities have banned all Air India Express flights for 15 days for carrying a passenger who has been diagnosed with Covid-19.
