BJP chief JP Nadda on 2-day Assam visit from today, to address rally in Silchar

BJP national President JP Nadda would arrive in Assam on Monday on a two-day visit and address a public rally in Silchar to kick-start the ruling party`s campaigning for the coming Assembly elections, party leaders said on Sunday.

Bharatiya Janata Party`s Assam unit General Secretary Rajdeep Roy said that besides addressing the public gathering at the Police Parade Ground in Silchar on Monday, Nadda would also meet with senior party leaders.

The Centre has directed states and union territories across the country to increase surveillance around water bodies, live bird markets, zoos, and poultry farms as well as strengthen biosecurity at poultry farms amid the bird flu scare.

The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying said in a statement on Sunday that the states and UTs have been asked to increase public awareness and prevent the spread of misinformation on avian influenza or bird flu.

The Department of Revenue (DoR), Ministry of Finance has clarified that any purchase of gold, silver, jewellery, or precious gems and stones below Rs 2 lakh does not require PAN or Aadhaar of a customer as mandatory Know Your Customer (KYC) document.

Sources said that the notification issued under PML Act, 2002, on December 28, 2020, is a requirement of FATF Dealers in Precious Metals and Precious Stones (DPMS) to carry out KYC and Customer Due Diligence only when they conduct cash transactions above Rs 10 lakh.

As many as 17 crows were found dead at a park in Delhi's Mayur Vihar Phase 3, two at a DDA park in Dwarka, and 16 in Hastsal village of West district on Saturday, following which the Delhi government collected samples to investigate for avian influenza that has been seen in several parts of the country.

According to sources from the Delhi Chief Minister's Office, four samples each were collected from Mayur Vihar and Hastsal, and one was collected from Dwarka.
