Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], July 7 (ANI): The Calcutta High Court on Wednesday imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakhs on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for putting the judiciary in a bad light.

The Calcutta High Court's single bench led by Justice Kausik Chanda passed the order while hearing West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's election petition challenging BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari's victory from the Nandigram Constituency in the recently held state assembly polls.

Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) will invest over Rs 1 lakh crore in Odisha to create employment opportunities in the state, its Chairman Naveen Jindal has said.

More than 1.67 crore balance and unutilised COVID-19 vaccine doses are still available with the states, UTs and private hospitals to be administered, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

Pharma major Morepen Laboratories has started the production of the test batch of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in Himachal Pradesh, the company has said.

The first batch of the vaccine will be shipped to Russia's Gamaleya Center for quality control.
