In what comes as good news for those investing in Provident Fund (PF), the government has increased the exemption limit on interest on PF to Rs 5 lakh. Earlier, the limit was Rs 2.5 lakh.

However, this is only for employees where no contribution is made on behalf of the employer. This new rule regarding PF will be applicable from the new financial year i.e. April 1, 2021.

Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) on Wednesday announced that it has signed a share purchase agreement for the acquisition of 100 per cent stake in two special purpose vehicles (SPV) holding 74.94 MW operating solar projects of Sterling & Wilson, a Shapoorji Pallonji group company.

Maharashtra on Tuesday reported 28,699 new COVID-19 cases and 132 deaths, the state health department said.

The daily death count was the highest since November 20 last year when 155 deaths had been reported.
