State-owned power giant NTPC arm NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NREL) will float a global engineering procurement and construction tender to set up a 3GW renewable energy project with a battery storage system worth around Rs 15,000 crore by February 2022, according to a senior official.

"The NREL has decided to float a global tender or RFP (request for proposal) for a 3GW renewable energy project (like solar and wind) with battery energy storage system in the next two months (by February 2022).

Diversified entity ITC Ltd on Thursday said it has collaborated with Invest India, a non-profit venture by the central government for national investment promotion and facilitation, to crowdsource innovative ideas for single-use plastic substitution and automate waste segregation.

Under the collaboration, ITC Paperboards and Specialty Papers Division (PSPD) has launched the ITC Sustainability Innovation Challenge, which would support innovative startup ideas on sustainable packaging and smart waste management solutions, the company said in a statement.

IT stocks were outperforming in trades on Thursday on hopes of strong earings show for the December quarter. The BSE IT index hit a new all-time high at 37,870, and was up a per cent at 37,814, as against a 0.2 per cent rise on the BSE Sensex.

Shares of Kalpataru Power Transmission (KPTL), a leading global EPC player in the power and infrastructure contracting sector, surged 7.2 per cent in intraday trades on the BSE to a high of Rs 382 on Thursday after the company announced large order wins.

According to a release issused by the company to the BSE, the company has secured new orders worth Rs 1,560 crore. The orders are from India, Africa, CIS and South America in the power transmission business.

Delta Corp slipped over 4 per cent in early trade on the BSE to Rs 252.65 following reports that the Goa government imposed fresh restrictions on occupancy rate to entertainment parks including casinos in wake of the Omicron threat.

According to reports, the Goa government on Wednesday has ordered to run Casinos, cinema halls, auditoriums, river cruises, water parks & entertainment parks at a maximum of 50 per cent capacity. The state also restricted the entry of non-vacinated people into Goa.

Bajaj Auto Ltd on Wednesday said it will set up an electric vehicle manufacturing facility at Akurdi in Pune with an investment of Rs 300 crore.
