Greenko Group will supply green power to ArcelorMittal, Ayana Renewable Power and three states from its 5,230 MW renewable energy plant being set up here, a top company official said.

The plant which is being set up at a cost of USD 3 billion is the world's largest renewable energy storage project. Global steel giant ArcelorMittal has made an investment of around USD 600 million for 1,000 MW capacity of the project.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed 80 cases of monkeypox in 11 countries and said they are working to better understand the extent and cause of the outbreak.

The Arvind Kejriwal Government has undertaken a unique initiative of using robots for extinguishing fires in the city. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has ruled out the possibility of repealing the Meghalaya Regulation of Gaming Act, 2021 saying its repeal would cost the state about Rs 10 crore revenue loss.

The flood situation in Assam further worsened on Friday, while the death of four more persons, including two children, took the toll to 14 in the current pre-monsoon floods and landslides and over 8 lakh people have been affected in 29 of the state's 34 districts, officials said.

Assam State Disaster Management Authority officials said that the four deaths were reported from Cachar (2), Nagaon, and Lakhimpur districts.
