The Central government has accorded 'in-principal' approval for the setting up of 21 greenfield airports across the country, said Minister of State in the Ministry of Civil Aviation Gen VK Singh on Thursday.

According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, in a written reply to Lok Sabha, Singh said these airports include Mopa in Goa, Navi Mumbai, Shirdi and Sindhudurg in Maharashtra, Kalaburagi, Vijayapura...

On Wednesday, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) hiked the repo rate by 35 basis points (bps) to 6.25 per cent. RBI governor Shaktikanta Das said that Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) voted 5-1 to raise the rates. RBI also lowered its GDP growth forecast for FY23 to 6.8 per cent from 7 per cent earlier.

The MPC voted 4-2 to remain focused on withdrawing accommodation so that inflation remains within the target while supporting growth.

The exit-poll survey of Gujarat Assembly elections has indicated a full majority for BJP and it will have an impact on Karnataka also, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Maharashtra state road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has suspended its bus services to Karnataka in wake of an alert from the police, on Wednesday.
