BSE expects 30 SME IPOs in next 2-3 months

NEW DELHI: Leading stock exchange BSE today said it expects 30 initial public offerings on its small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) platform in the next two-three months.

This is on top of 17 SMEs already got listed on capital markets with public issues worth Rs 134 crore in the first five months (April-August) of the ongoing fiscal.

Shares of NIIT were up over 5% at Rs 97 on the Bombay Stock Exchange after the company said it has been awarded a multi-year contract to provide managed training services to leading global bank Citi in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

With this new partnership, NIIT's Corporate Learning Group wil source and manage third party training procured by Citi across EMEA, the company said in a release.

Investigative agencies have traced the Rs 6,000-crore MONEY laundering scam involving Bank of Baroda (BoB) to 11 accounts of HDFC Bank, where the fraud might have actually commenced. More arrests of those involved in the case, besides six made by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED), are expected in the coming days. The investigative agencies have found that the transactions through the 11 HDFC Bank accounts started way back in January, 2014, while those from BoB began sometime in August that year.

The amounts were transferred from HDFC Bank to BoB for making advanced remittances for imports that never took place. Meanwhile, ED is also investigating whether HDFC Bank accounts were used to make foreign transfers.

Tata Motors has rallied 5% to Rs 369 on the BSE after the company-owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) sold 47,634 units globally in September, up 3% compared to the same month last year.

A combined nearly 3.2 million shares changed hands on the counter on the BSE and NSE.

India’s largest software exporter, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), is in talks with nine of the 11 payments bank licence holders to offer operational solutions, according to a highly placed source at the company.

“We have a solution for payments banks and are taking it to the Indian market,” confirmed N Chandrasekaran, managing director, during an interaction.

Shares of the software services major fell by 2.12 per cent to settle at Rs. 1,098.65 on BSE. During the day, it dipped 3.15 per cent Rs. 1,087.10. At NSE, the stock slipped 2 per cent to close at Rs. 1,099.40.

The GLE will be available in two variants -- 250d with a 2,143 cc diesel engine priced at Rs 58.90 lakh, and 350d which is powered by 2,987cc diesel engine priced at Rs 69.90 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).

Govt clears performance-linked payment for CIL officers

Government today approved payment of Performance Related Pay to executives and non-unionised supervisors of Coal India Ltd (CIL) and its subsidiaries.

The Cabinet has approved the recommendations of the Committee of Secretaries to regularise the 2007 Pay Revision implemented by CIL with effect from January 1, 2007 in the loss making subsidiaries, an official release said.

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED), which investigates foreign exchange violations, on Tuesday arrested four people in connection with the suspected transfer of black money from Bank of Baroda accounts to entities based in Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Separately, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested an assistant general manager and another official dealing with foreign exchange at the bank’s Ashok Vihar branch in New Delhi.
